Just in time for BBQ season delicious mini burgers.

Succulent, moist, delicious, sweet, chocolatey… wait you didn’t think I was referring to meat burgers did you?

I was talking about cupcake burgers. They are so cute. Look just like sliders.

They are easy to assemble. (I would love to post photos of me assembling them but my place has really crappy lighting so until I move out my hole of a basement apartment these after shots will have to do!)

Anyways back to the burgers.

Cut vanilla cupcake in half. (If the top half is larger than the bottom half just use  circle cookie cutter to trim it to a similar size as the bottom half)

Bake brownies in a cookie sheet rather than a square pan to make them thinner. Then using circle cookie cutter of a similar width to the cupcake cut the patties out.

Tint buttercream icing in red (ketchup), green (lettuce) and yellow (mustard).

Now the rest is fairly straight forward.

Place some icing on the bottom half of cupcake and place a patty on top.

Then alternate between the colored icings to create the illusion of ketchup, mustard and lettuce.

Place top half of cupcake on top. Then sprinkle the top with sesame seeds.

And voila burger cupcakes!

I just recently purchased the Tovolo Cupcake Pen from iQliving on Danforth in Toronto ON.

And let me just say…worth every penny.

It is the most wonderful product I’ve used to distribute cake batter into cupcake pans. It’s easy to fill and then to fill each cupcake wrapper is so easy and mess free. Just squeeze it out and once you’re done squeezing it stops flowing. No mess. No more struggling with dripping batter all over the place. I love it. It’s also great for making pancakes.

I definitely recommend it.
